Black Communities is a conference for collaboration. It’s not just about communities and universities,
it’s about all these other institutions. So it’s about churches and it’s about government. And so the space that we’ve created here is exciting and vibrant and people have the same end goal of the success
of these communities. The best thing about this conference is that there are community folks, practitioners and Ph.Ds in the same room and that sort of community is what’s been missing. That ecosystem that is accessible in proximity and so as we become more proximate with ideas with needs
and then practitioners, we get closer to the answer. It allows for people across disciplines and backgrounds and places
to talk to each other in a way they actually understand each other
so they can collaborate and support Black communities.
