IT Outsourcing: A Provost's Perspective

it was very difficult to keep updated on new technologies as well as implement those technologies and provide supports so we're small enough where we still provide personal attention Madonna to our students and even our faculty and staff but we're also big enough to experience a lot of those IT problems that just aren't nagging so we really realized we needed another solution there are several different metrics or examples of how it's been a successful relationship with dynamic campus the one that comes to mind is related to the project on retention and graduation rates improving those and most around reporting getting timely reports getting information that's accurate so we can make decisions to help students and faculty do their work and complete as I mention I've been a Provost for about six weeks now but again I've been here for 24 years so I understand the culture and how things work pretty well and now in this area that when my role as the provost there's a lot of attention paid to the academic side of the house obviously so with a lot of our academic programming we're a values allowed of data to evaluate those programs to make sure that they're the ones that are running are running well and it also informs new programming where we're could where do we have room for improvement and where do we have room for growth so the best best example is probably reports that are provided to the academic departments so in my area that's wonderful because it's no longer centralized they're going out to the faculty they're going out to the Dean as the program directors and they're helping them use data to make decisions the colleague from another institution came to me and wanted to use dynamic campus as an outsourcing option for them my first reaction would be they better have enough time to still work with us because we love them having said that I think probably it's a glowing recommendation it's like giving a letter recommendation about a person because it really is person at that level that we're talking about the people the staff but all the organization the way they operate I would highly recommend as to any university or college
